📗 Grade 7 Math Outcomes (California CA CCSSM)

In 7th grade, students build on 6th-grade foundations and move toward more advanced reasoning with rational numbers, algebra, and geometry:

1. Ratios and Proportional Relationships

  • Analyze proportional relationships and solve real-world problems using unit rates.

  • Represent proportional relationships with equations, tables, and graphs.

2. The Number System

  • Apply and extend understanding of operations with rational numbers (fractions, decimals, and integers).

3. Expressions and Equations

  • Solve multi-step problems using numerical and algebraic expressions and equations.

  • Work with expressions, equations, and inequalities.

4. Geometry

  • Use properties of angles and shapes to solve problems.

  • Know and use formulas for area, surface area, and volume of geometric figures.

5. Statistics and Probability

  • Analyze data sets to make inferences and predictions.

  • Develop probability models and calculate probabilities for compound events.
